Juan Manuel Robles was chosen one of the best writers from Latin America under the age of 39 by Hay Festival's Bogotá 39 list.

He is the author of Nuevos juguetes de la Guerra Fría (Seix Barral, 2015), one of the most celebrated novels in the last years in Perú. His widely praised last work of fiction, No somos cazafantasmas (Seix Barral, 2018) gathers seven short works masterfully uncovering latent cyber-paranoia and technology-related threats.

After spending his formative years in Perú, he moved to New York City where he was a recipient of a MFA Creative Writing Fellowship at the NYU. He lives in Lima, where he is a regular contributor to Letras Libres, Etiqueta Negra and Courrier International.
